Peterfield was originally a working farm

Originally a working farm, Petefield Antiques came into fruition in 2005. It was officially opened by TV celebrity Antique Expert Tim Wonnacot. The village consisted of the 12 original shops and they included a hardware store, a drapery, more antique shops and a mirror and fireplace shop as well as antiques and collectables cabinets.

What is now the cafe was originally a stable for 4 shire horses and the barns where the shops are was a grain and equipment store.

The Village also enjoyed a busy cafe, which soon became the heart of the village.

After a few successful years the centre changed hands and the name was changed to Gosfield Shopping Village.

More changes of management and the Village now enjoyed a Farm Shop and Animal Feeds Barn. This has continued until a couple of years ago. Unfortunately the site was starting to look run down and the cafe was closed and it was apparent that something drastic was required.

Huskop Commercial Management took over the running of the village in February 2022 and have since invested and continue to invest money and time into making the village once again a great place for families to visit.

Robert Fox has opened “Fox in the Stables” Tea Rooms providing a wide variety of Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free delights for everyone to enjoy. There are also childrens tables in the garden, Sally the Triceratops, tabletop football, Jenga and of course the animals… Fred and Bert the pygmy goats, the guinea pigs and chickens!

In November 2022 a new area to the village was created. Named ‘The Emporium’ the area consisting of twenty more cabinets, a new shop and 9 floor spaces for furniture, mirors and etheria. This has added a whole new dimension to the village.
